Epididymitis: For a young man, persistent pain around the testicle is sometimes caused by inflammation of the epididymis, the tube-like structure behind the testicle. If it is tender or swollen, antibiotics can be helpful. You should have an exam to make sure your testicles are normal since other more concerning problems like testicular torsion or testicular tumors can cause pain as well.
