See a physician: If your child has abnormal swallowing function, it can usually be helped by feeding therapy. It is important to make a diagnosis first. If the baby is gaining weight, you need to figure this out. If there is a weight gain problem, you should see a pediatrician promptly.

Get evaluated: This should be looked into. Some kids have an easier gag and will gag on thicker foods. However, difficulties with all foods and even some liquids is abnormal and should be worked up.
