Runny nose: Your runny nose is causing some swelling in the back of your nose, near the opening of the eustachian tube, the tube that connects your nose and your ears. Usually related to cold or upper respiratory infection or even sinus infection. Try some nasal saline irrigation to clear out the mucous. Can also try an antihistamine, if allergies. If bacterial infection, you probably need to see your doc.

Earache/fullness: When you have a common cold the back of your throat has swelling and inflammation and this clogs up the opening of the middle ear tube in the pharynx. This causes vacuum like feeling in the tube and sometimes has secretions in it due to the vacuum. The vacuum or the secretions both can cause ear ache. Fullness and dull pain. Try a decongestant. It will help.
