A member asked:

Is a fissure fistula at the bottom of the anus?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Anal fissure and perianal fistula are two different problems, but both can be found in or around the anus. A fissure is a "cut" or break in the anal mucosa that is painful and bleeds. A fistula is a communication between two structures - usually the rectum, bowel or abscess and the skin in or around the anus. Good luck!
