Various: Simply put, glaucoma is any condition in which the fluids of the inside of the eye meet resistance to leaving the eye, and have to elevate the pressure to overcome that. The most common cause is an age related drop in outflow ability. There are other causes such as trauma, various diseases, etc. Treatment is by drugs, lasers and surgery to relieve the pressure - usually effective.
