Something else: You could neuropathy or pinched nerves coming off your spine based on symptoms that you describing. An evaluation with your rheumatologist could help sort this out. Hope that helps.

No: Elevated CPK levels are not associated with back pain. These levels are too low to cause symptoms anyway. Have you had a workup to look for possible causes of the CPK rise? If not, have one done.

Many causes: When I've checked C(P)K's on students, the ones that are serious about exercise all have values that are "slightly" elevated or more. MCTD can also produce a myositis. And the Plaquenil you're taking can cause CK from heart and/or skeletal muscle. It's not causing your back burning, but if you're weak or short of breath, maybe.
