No: Gabapentin is indicated for seizures, painful nerve diseases, restless leg syndrome, and hot flashes. First line therapy for general anxiety is either a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (ssri) like Prozac or a serotonin–norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (snri) like cymbalta (duloxetine). You should see your family md for help with anxiety.

A bit: It is a mood stabilizer, but not a great one. I like it for pain and anxiety, but would rarely prescribe for just andiety.
