A member asked:

Is it possible to treat a yeast infection then turn around and have bv ?

Yes: You may have had BV first and it was not treated adequately. I have seen this happen. Bv is treated orally with Metronidazole orally or uing a vaginal cream.

Concurrent infection: It is definitely possible to have both a yeast infection and BV since a simple shift in vaginal pH can lead to an overgrowth of bacteria, causing BV and having a yeast infection or even treating one is enough to cause this shift.
