A member asked:

What is an absence seizure with a clinical change?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Clinical appearance: One can have seizure activity within the brain but if it is brief, it may not alter the activity of a person & be noticed. With absence or staring seizures, the event needs to run about 3 continuous seconds before one would be noticed "clinically" .An eeg can document these brief, unsustained events.
