If you did the test: Correctly, it is reliable. Since you are having a period and hpt is negative, it is very unlikely that you are pregnant. If you have not had your period, repeat the test in 4-5 days, use first morning urine and follow the instructions in the kit carefully. If you do not wish to be pregnant, please use contraception consistently rather than relying on plan b.
