Nerve comression: Tingling pain in the ankles is usually caused by some form of nerve compression. Compartment syndromes from running increase the pressure in the muscles surrounding a nerve and can cause thi. Tarsal tunnel syndrome can increase with running as well as radiculopathy ( nerve compression in the spine felt in ankles).One cause of nerve tingling can be a disease of the nerves themselves. A solution: Find a podiatrist and get fitted with orthotics, as your problem may be due to hyperpronation while running. Changing foot angles could be miraculous.
