What are the reason for weak positive pregnancy test?

Pregnancy test: If is urine test then probably very early pregnancy(few days) or aaprox 2 wks from a misscariage. If is blood test weak positive and urine negative then is phantom HCG sdr. Basically some antobodies in your blood cross react with the test in lab and causes a persistent low value on result.

Agree with Dr. D.: One additional reason is HCG made by pituitary gland around menopause. Repeat the test in 4-5 days, if it is still weak positive, pregnancy is unlikely. It would be prudent to get blood HCG level and monitor it serially. Your doctor may also test estrogen level.
