Depends : Hopefully you were taking them legally as a prescription being managed by your doctor according to his or her instructions. Properly used pain meds are ok for use. If you are abusing pain medication please inform you obgyn. If you feel you have an addiction problem it is very important to inform your doctor so that safe detoxification can be arranged.

Opiate & pregnancy: It is not recommended to use opiate in the pregnancy. It can affect fetal development in the first trimester and it can cause great stress for the baby due to withdrawal. If you are so dependent on the opiate, please discuss it with your doctor before going to labor. He can help you develop a plan to take care of your baby after birth.
