Usually not: These cystic structures in the lid are removed from the inside of the lid with a special clamp to control bleeding. When bleeding occurs, it is inside the lid draining to the outside rather than staining the lid tissue. So a bruised eyelid is not common and actually most commonly is caused by the inadvertent hitting of a vein during the injection of the local anesthesia.

Possibly: It is not unusual to get some bleeding under the skin when performing chalazion surgery. This can be from the numbing injection or the surgery itself. It is more likely if surgery on more than one lid is necessary. In any case, it should be mild bruising which will be gone in under a week.
