A member asked:

I have an itch on the skin (between the buttocks), it's not constant and usually starts at night when i'm sleeping. what can i do to eliminate? regard

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Intergluteal rash: Two of most common rashes between buttocks are psoriasis & eczema/lichen simplex chronicus (lsc). Lsc results when itchy skin is rubbed/scratched & gets thicker, more scaly & itchier as a result. Topical treatments can help but all friction in the area must stop. Blot, not rub with towel. Use wet toilet tissue to wipe, dry to blot, use fragrance free cleansing bar like cetaphil, no wash cloths.
