Family practice : If creams are in affective then a short course of Prednisone with a longer acting steroid shot might be needed. See your dr to see what is best for you.

Oral meds for eczema: If eczema is severe enough to require oral medications, immunosuppressive drugs like neoral, CellCept (mycophenolate mofetil) and others can be used, but we try our best to make patients feel better without. Prednisone makes eczema better but it will flare again as soon as Prednisone is done. Keeping a person on Prednisone long term can have drastic consequences to his/her health. Many topical meds to help with eczema.
