Delayed Unions: Delayed unions are rare. When they are encountered, the physician needs to look at potential causes such as other medical conditions, nutrition status, smoking history...Etc. Delayed unions are more common in patients with certain medical conditions. The method of immobilization needs to be addressed as well. Motion at a fracture site can delay healing and weber b's can be unstable.
