1 week after: A week after your expected period is the most effective of the two.

At or after menses: A blood pregnancy test will be accurate about 12 days after you ovulate. That is usually just prior to your menses. If you are trying to get pregnant, an ovulation predictor kit can help you determine when you are ovulating as well. Good luck!
