Thyroid: Thyroid dysfunction can be characterized by changes in weight, heat/cold intolerance, a fast or slow pulse, swelling, and even congestive heart failure. Thyroid evaluation starts very simply with blood tests ( TSH and free t4). You may require further testing if these results are abnormal.

Symptoms vague : The symptoms are somewhat vague (not specific to thyroid disease) bc majority of adults will report having these symptoms but do not have thyroid issues: fatigue, weight gain, dry skin, constipation, feeling cold. Easiest way to settle question is blood test. Cheapest way to settle question is changin the food intake and seeing if you lose weight appropriately.
