Types of lipids: A triglyceride is a molecular frame that has three fatty acids attached. This allows the fatty acids to be transported through the body. Types of these include "saturated" and "unsaturated" fats. Ldl is low density lipoprotein. Lipoprotein is a complicated structure of lipids (fat) and proteins. Ldl is important, but in elevated or in a pathologic form is the basis for atherosclerosis.
