See orthopedist: Joint pain can happen with Accutane although it is rare. Stopping Accutane is a good idea until the cause of joint pain is figured out. Since your son is an athlete, i would also be concerned about the possibility of injury. Please have an evaluation by orthopedics.

There have been: There have been conflicting cases of seronegative spondyloarthritis to occur with this drug though recently showing that there was no link to one type (crohn's). It would not hurt to see a rheumatologist.
