Not necessaraly: The nicotine does decrease blood flow to the placenta but this early in the process it should have no significant effect.The other toxic materials in the smoke do not get to the fetus, just you.This would be a great time and reason to cut back or stop.Babies need a healthy mom.Babies raised by smokers are smaller at birth, have more illness and higher crib death rates.
