A member asked:

How old do you have to be to get a pregnancy test?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Post-pubertal: For pregnancy, you have to have ovulated and had a menstrual cycle. While girls may start at age 8 or 9, most are between 12-14 years of age. Alternatively, hcg, the hormone tested, can be elevated in children with ovarian or testicular tumors, so it is not only used to test for pregnancy.
