Condom breakage: Condom breakage and slippage are rare events. Most studies show that condoms break about 2 percent of the time during vaginal intercourse, with a similar proportion slipping off completely. Education regarding proper condom use will minimize the risk. Have several condoms available in case it happens. Otc emergency contraception is always available if the condom ruptures.
