Combination: It is caused by a combination of chemicals released in the body, hormonal levels that make you more sensitive to the sensation of pain, and contractions of the uterus that is trying to push out the unused blood and tissue lining

Dysmenorrhea: Dysmenorrhea is the way we doctors say "period pains." the majority of patients have primary dysmenorrhea, which involves recurrent, crampy, lower abdominal pain that occurs during menses in the absence of demonstrable disease that could explain these symptoms. Most women have no risk factors. Disorders such as endometriosis, adenomyosis, or uterine fibroids can cause secondary dysmenorrhea.
