See below: Celiac patient can rarely develop a type of arthritis that responds to gluten free diet. It is usually not erosive and symptoms resolve on gluten free diet. However, celiac patients are also at higher risk to develop rheumatoid arthritis. Consider consulting with a rheumatologist to evaluate your arthritis even if rheumatoid tests have been negative because sometimes can still be rheumatoid.
