Possible: Hydrops and plf both can cause fluctuating ear pressure, and hearing loss so may be hard to distinguish. Another cause could be superior canal dehiscence but the hearing loss in this condition is usually conductive. Consider getting fistula test from audiologist. In plf condition usually begins with blow to ear, major baropressure event, heavy straining such as hard cough or lifting heavy objec.
