A member asked:

Should we treat for scabies preventively if there was a case at daycare?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not necessary: There is no evidence that treating an infection before you get an infection ever helps prevent an infection. Taking treatment is not a vaccine. In scabies avoid contact and treat if an infection presents itself. Watch for outbreaks and treat as they arise.
