Not that contagious: Usually transmission requires more prolonged, closer contact. If you live with this person or have close contact, you should be treated. Even if you have no symptoms. Usually this consists of permethrin 5% cream applied to entire skin from ears to toes, washed off 8 to 24 hours later. This is often repeated 1-2 weeks later.
