Many things: Have an eye exam. Ophthalmology is all about figuring out why vision is blurry. Many possibilities and discussing is totally spececultive. You are in your 40s and one of theist common causes at this age is presbyopia. Simple reading glasses may be all that is necessary for blurry near vision. Other causes: dry eyes, refractive errors, allergies, blepharitis to name a few.
