I understand there will be viral shedding for genital HSV-1 during times of no visible outbreaks and its advised to avoid sex during the rare outbreaks, but what is the rate of transmission during periods of no visible outbreaks?
I have tested HSV-1 IgG 22.5. And I had NO symptoms or outbreaks ever. So not I sure its oral or genital. My wife is negative. I am asymptomatic, can I still take prophalytic dose to atleast suppress the transmission to her as viral shedding occurs?
