Radiculopathy : Description of shooting pain down a leg is most commonly caused by irritation of long nerve(s) stemming from the lower back, called lumbar or lumbosacral radiculopathy. It may also be from sciatica or pinched nerve which can be from radiculopahty or other etiology. Other causes such as referred pain are also possible. Please consult your dr. For further evaluation, possible x-ray & possible mri.
