A member asked:

My mother is 84 years old with a creatinine of 1.9 and a calcium level of 11.4 what does this mean?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No simple answer: These values could at worst be an indication of multiple myeloma. Or more likely, she has some kidney impairment due to age and high blood pressure and perhaps the elevated calcium is due to her hydrochlorothiazide. The findings could be caused by hyperparathyroidism. The parathyroid glands are imbedded im the thyroid gland in the neck and sometimes surgery can be necessary to fix this. See doc.
