A member asked:

How long can someone survive after effectively being treated for hep c and on " remission", one dr says ur levels are undetactable other says they are?

Depends: There is no cure at this time for hepatitis c. Life span and complications are dependent upon the disease and it's progression. Some will live a long life with no complications, others will have complete liver failure and potentially death rather quickly. It is hard to tell. Monitor it closely and follow the recs of your doctor.

Normal survival: Once your hepatitis c has been eradicated and viral levels are undetectable, your rate of survival is not affected unless you already have cirrhosis.
