Not true: If there is no genetic birth defect one is worried about, that would only affect a baby girl or only affect a baby boy, then the gender of each baby shall be by chance, not by choice. At this time, it is not considered ethical to select the gender of a baby. A main reason is that we do not want people to value girls more than boys, nor boys more than girls, as the goal is to treat both equally.

Boy or Girl: There are no food supplements or drugs that can select gender. Females provide an x (girl) chromosome and males can provide and x (girl) or y (boy) chromosome. So the man provides the deciding factor and it is random.
