Calorie restriction: My dieticians and I do not typically set calorie restrictions for patients. Instead, we educate them on which foods are healthy and which foods to avoid. Then we work on modifying their eating habits. Realistically, if you eliminate a lot of carbs and sugars from your diet, you can lose a lot of weight. Of course volume is also a factor and we work on portion control as well.
