Possible myeloma: If you have anemia (low red cell count) or an abnormal protein in the blood (m-spike), your doctor may want to rule out multiple myeloma- a disorder of white blood cells. Free light chain testing is part of the evaluation for this. You should speak to your doctor to find out what prompted him to order the test, rather than worrying about it.
