Cancer vs hernia: Testicular cancer presents with a mass on the testicle. Hernia presents with painful bulge in the groin. You should make an appointment with a board certified urologist or general surgeon for an evaluation.

Mass in scrotum: Signs of testicular cancer include: lump or enlargement in a testicle, feeling of heaviness in the scrotum, dull ache in the abdomen or groin, sudden collection of fluid in the scrotum, pain or discomfort in a testicle or the scrotum, enlargement or tenderness of the breasts. Cancer usually affects only one testicle. See a doc if you have symptoms, especially if they last more than 2 weeks.
