Pain: Pain is never normal. It is a signal, which your body send you saying something is wrong. See neuro or orthopedic spine surgeon for evaluation.

Can hip pain be a symptom of herniated disc? I have l 3-4 disc protrusion (per mri) from lifting a heavy object. Initially i only had low back and hip pain. Over the period of 2 weeks i developed pain down my left leg and into the sole of my left foot.
Had X-ray of low lumbar and hips. Finding says degeneration in certain discs and 'abnormalities' in hips but doc says nothing serious? Difference?
