Yes, but...: Ditching the sugar is wise, but be wary of "sweetened" drinks in general. Your metabolic response to sweet seems to be the same whether from sugar or artificial sweetners. Also, it is a self-perpetuating habit, ie. The more your 'sweet tooth' is fed, the more it will want. Stevia is probably safest.

Absolutely: Research seems to show that diet sodas actually make you gain weight. While you would be better off drinking water due to the artificial sweeteners in crystal light, it is still a better option than sodas.
