Thoughts matter: Anxiety is a process that prepares individuals for future threat; "primes the pump" for the fear (panic) response so to speak. However, we get anxious unnecessarily when we have thoughts of not being able to control or predict future outcome, since anxiety is always future oriented (e.g., "what if......"). So these symptoms often result from telling ourselves that future threat may be present.

Human responses: You are a human being, not a machine that can be calibrated and put on auto-pilot. Humans are constantly shifting and dealing with change, and not every stimulus is a gentle one. Your systems are in continuous flux so that overall, you're stable. Your symptoms show there are some things you're sensitive to -- whether other people, the things they do, or other. Work in therapy on these issues.
