Tonsillectomy postop: What you are suffering sounds like a very typically post-op course. You have to expect the worst sore throat of your life and it will likely last about 2 weeks. Head pain is probably from decreased fluid intake as a result of sore throat. Ear pain is referred pain from the tonsil beds to the ears and is an expected occurrence, although not everyone suffers this. Make sure you drink lots.
