What dose it mean if you have fluids on your liver?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends on cause: Ascites is seen in liver( cirrhosis), kidney, or congestive heart failure. Fluid may be blood from trauma, rupture of spleen, liver or ovary cyst. If recent surgery, fluid given at operation or via iv. Ask your doc why the study - what ws the underlying problem? What is the nature of the fluid. This may need to be sampled. Good luck.
