Could be: If you have pain, swelling, redness or a new lump, always consult your gyn or primary care doctor. This could be a clogged duct, and may lead to infection. Your doctor can advise you.

Maybe infection: Try massaging the area to see if you can release the clogged part. Sometimes a warm compress helps. Clean your nipple and if you see any dried milk gently pull it off- this clears the way for the higher milk to come down ands hopefully release the clogged area. If you have a fever see your dr- you may be developing mastitis.
