A member asked:

Can i completely refuse forceps and vacuum? there is no way that i want those to be used on me and my baby. i prefer cs. can a doctor use them anyway?

Yes you can: You have every right to refuse medical intervention, but be totally informed before you make those decisions. Talk to your OB about your fears regarding these devices. You also need to be aware that even with a c-section, these devices are sometimes used. So what do you want them to do if you have a really big baby that even at c-section they can't pull out - let baby go without oxygen or use them?
