A member asked:

Curious: internet is flooded with women who get pregnant on birth control pills, and have regular "periods". what is actual likelihood of this?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Perfect vs typical: When birth control is used ideally it has a very good success rate - less than 1% of females will get pregnant. When it is used typically it has a measurable failure rate of about 8%. Some women really can't remember to take meds, or refill on time, etc....
