A member asked:

Can you please explain me the surgery procedure needed for someone with frequent shoulder dislocation ? is there an age limit for this ? my fr is 19.

Variable: No age limit. Arthroscopic soft tissue reconstruction might be enough. Sometimes more complicated needing muscle or bone procedures.

Labral repair: In order to stabilize his shoulder & stop the dislocations he will need to have his labrum repaired most likely. This structure is usually torn or stretched from dislocations. Other procedures more rarely needed could involve bone transfer/grafting if bone loss is present. There is not an age restriction, as long as strict postop protocol/restrictions can be followed.
