I'm wondering why are people resistant to donate their organs after death?

Excellent question: In some traditions, the whole idea of being kind to other people for its own sake, rather than a prescribed duty, is novel -- in these countries it's been impossible to set up voluntary organ donation. English lawyers suing pathologists popularized "the right to be buried intact." us "sensitive" ethicists emphasized "give the family a choice" rather than "do the right thing." it's all wrong & dumb.
