What is blood work tell you about your kidneys?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Labs and kidneys: A full blood work up can give an idea of your estimated GFR and which is derived from your BUN and creatinine levels. If you have advanced chronic kidney disease (ckd) you will find an elevation of bun, creatinine, parathyroid hormone and phosphorous levels. You may also find a low calcium and hemoglobin levels. If these are found, see a nephrologist for further work up.
