In 1950's: David Karnofsky at Sloan Kettering had noted that during World War I the Germans had introduced nitrogen mustard gas which was fatal since it destroyed the WBC system of the host. He introduced a liquid form known as nitrogen mustard which destroyed cancer when given intravenously or intra arterially into the blood stream feeding the tumor. This was followed by the 5FU group of drugs
